Hi gurus,
In BW, i created a table "TEST". On which i want to have custom extraction.
I created the custom extraction using RS02(no problem while creating).
In BW, when i do replcate datasource it doesnt' show me the custom extraction. But when i right click on the default datasource & select "object preview". i could see the new generated source.
After this i'm confused . how do i use it..i couldn't assign to infosouce.
step by step is appreciated
Appreciate the help
Hi,
In BW system
1. Create the relevant objects u want.
2. Create a infosouce by adding the all the relevant objects.
3. Assign the data source to it.
4. Create the update rule for info provider.
5. Then u can load the data.
Thankx,
Debasish

If you create the datasource in BW directly you must replicate dataources in BW system (Self BW) ....the you must refresh your vizualization tree in RSA1 .....the you shuld see the datasource...

Thanks guys...everything looks to be ok but still i could not get the data source.
1) i created the generic datasource(Zobj) using Appl component as BW
2) Source i'm using is BIWINST
3) i right clik on this source and selected "Replicate Datasources"
4) when i try to attach the datasouce to the infosource. i could not see the Zobj
Any help is appreciated.
You need to replicate the data source using myself system . When in RSA1 data source screen , select your ( same BI / BW ) system from the drop down as data sources are system specic . For this system -> Replicate metadata and then this data source should be visible in you BW system .

Hi
You need to replicate in self source system(BW)...BW itself has to be created as source system to the BW..please check whether this self assignment is there or not..
Hope it helps
Thanks

hi,
Check in the RSA6 transaction whether the corresponding data source is seen and in the same subtree as in RSA6 it would be present in BW after you replicate the source system

Hi!
in which source system have u created this data source?
check the RSA6 transaction of the source system.
replicate the data sources for this source system .. it might also be self source system.
check after refreshing RSA1.
