Payment Term for Advance Payment

Dear Friends,

The requirement is to set up a new payment term for receiving advnace payments from the customers.

I think payment term is not the proper method for advance payments. We should use the down payment request mechanism provided by SAP.

Please suggest whether a payment term for advance payments should / can be created.

Normally for any advance payment, you can use special GL indicators rather than changing the payment term.
