PI Central Adapter Engine is not registered in Central SLD

Former Member

Dear All,

I installed a new PI sysem (NW2004s SR2 with latest sp-stack 10) according to sap installation guide and configured as it was proposed by help.sap.com:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/78/f59442062bcd6ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm

We have a SOLMAN 4.0 where the cetral SLD is running.

I checked and implemented the following notes also

764176 - Error in XI due to inconsistent SLD contents

939592 - PI Usage Configuration versus Central SLD

Unfortunately the Central Adapter engine is still not registered in the SLD. I have absolutely no idea why. Everything seems to be correct.

Can anyone help me?

thanks

Skubi

Hello Together

I could finally solve the issue. The PIAFUSER was locked in the central SLD of the solman. I unlocked it and resetted its password. Then i restarted the AE CPA service in both PI installation, and the AE selfregistration in the SLD succeded. Thanks for your comments.

Hi balazas,

Now I'm configuring NW200s SR2 PI/XI. And I'm using Central SLD.I want to check if I registered AE. How can I do checking in Central SLD for my AE registration?

Thanks

Hi Cemil,

select "Technical Landscape" view, and select the

"Exchange Infrastructure" technical system type there.

The AE should be listed as part of the domain.

Hi Kenny,

I saw my AE listed in Centeral SLD Technical landscape. But I have a problem:

I can not import software component into Integration Repository from Central SLD.

It gives me message about not possible bring software components from Central SLD.

Thanks.

Hi Balazs,

have you checked the SAP notes :

#768148 Using a separate SLD for XI

#720717 Reduce the number of System Landscape Directories

written for XI 3.0 but can be applied with changes e.g. substitute the referenced XI service users for PI service users

Unfortuantely putting the fully qualified hostnames to the host file still not solved the problem ...

You have to execute the template installers in the NWA in order to register the system in the SLD

http://host:port/nwa

Click deploy & change tab and run the template installers

Hello Harrison

I cannot execute the template installer in NWA, because i'm not using the SLD service of the PI. See OSS note 939592 - PI Usage Configuration versus Central SLD:

"...In case of a central SLD, manual effort is required. The CTC Tool reports an error in configuration steps 7 and 8. Therefore all needed configuration steps are described in this note..."

The CPA settings has been already done according to "804124 - HTTP communication with XI Adapter Engine fails", but the AE is still not registered. Now I will add the fully qualified names to the windows host file, maybe it helps, if not then its a black magic.
