Renting equipment (Intercompany)

Hi, Here is the brief description of business process.

Customer places an order for rental equipment on a plant.

This rental equipment is sourced from another plant belonging to another company code.

The plant that is supplying the equipment want to have the control of ownership through out the rental process until the equipment is returned.

Appreciate any suggestions how to accomplish this.

Yes there will be material master. We may not use equipment master.

Hope this clarifies.

Rental business should be a standard business. I am not sure how the car renting is handled. Car should still be owned by car rental agency right during the rental. I searched in the Best practices and I could not find anything.

Do you want to do any transactions on this equipment in the customer plant ?

What is the definition of equipment in your org (PM equipment ? any material master for this ?)
