Crystal Reports XY Scatter Chart - dynamic axis placement

We are in the process of adapting an existing "Menu Analysis" column based Crystal Report into a more visually appealing XY scatter chart. A plot point on the chart will represent a specific recipe on a menu. It's location on the graph (the plot point's X and Y coordinates) will be determined by a combination of numeric representations of popularity and profitability.

My question is in regards to the XY axis on the graph and the options we may have for dynamically placing it. For our reporting needs, the intersection of the XY axis is determined by where the highest concentration of plot points lay. This effectively breaks the XY scatter chart down into four quadrants that have meaning for someone viewing the report.

Is Crystal Reports capable of dynamically moving the intersection of the XY axis to accomplish what is described above? Any additional information on how to perform this, preferably a sample VB.NET project or report, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

    Hi Neil,

No, CR has always had limited API's to alter charts. All you can do is adjust the location of the object in the SDK.

What you can do is use suppression in CR Designer to handle the various features though so changing this post to CR Designer Tag.
