Barcode configuration in ECC6.0

Hi Ramki,

The document is much useful but it mainly discuss on printing of Barcode. But our requirement is to activate barcode scanning for materials we receive and we don't want to print the bar code labels. I am looking for configurations that we need to do from functional side and technical side to activate this. Could you pls provide more input on this?

Hi Jaya Sree

To my knowledge you do not need any additional config for this. Barcode scanner works like a serial device. You put your cursor on material code and scan the barcode label, the input will be done.

Are you using Warehouse Management?

Also, check with your hardware provider (RF device) on how to integrate with SAP.

Hi Arif,

We are not implementing WM module in this phase. But client requirement is only to activate barcode scanning with basic functionality of WM. I configured the system as per the steps mentioned in the document but getting the message as " No entries maintained for menu main". I think problem is with screen format. Can you guide me where and how to define the screen format. Thanks for your inputs.
