I am having problems with the Fixed Value date on my license sales contracts in CRM 5 (IPM). The date is set on release of the contract, as far as I can see, and is not changeable later. It seems normally to set itself to the current date - 5 days, but sometimes I have managed to set it to a ridiculous date (such as 26.12.9999), probably because the contract start date at that point was 31.12.9999. Also, sometimes it is blank even after saving the contract. How can I check and control this further? It does not seem like setting a date rule on the billing tab at item level or at header level makes any difference.
The reason I need to ensure the value date is set correctly is because I want to process the Billing Due List in batch and pick up various License Confirmation items that are ready to be billed, and to post them into one billing document where possible (same Licensee). I can set the Billing Document date as a default on the Billing Due List, but not the Value date, and this is causing my confirmation items to be billed on separate billing documents.
