SAP Asset retirement and Depreciation values

Hi Masters,

I'm ABAPer and currently handing some functional tasks. I'm facing problem regarding the Asset Retirement and Asset Depreciation.

My Asset has been depreciated last January and February with the amount of 10,000.

When I'm trying to retire my asset using ABAVN, it includes also the amount for March.

As per my understanding, it should be 10,000.00 only.

Also, my asset has a total value of 300,000 for 5 years useful life. So the monthly depreciation should be 5,000/ month. January and February were okay but with March, it became 169.

Please help.

Hi John,

Please check the depreciation key for the asset. It must be to the day caluculation hence it is taking the depreciation upto the retirement date.

We're using Straight Line Depreciation.
