Hi,

It's purpose is to develop templates of certain structure and format with which content administrators and publishers can create news items and such. The templates are available when you click "new --> form --> <your form>" in a KM folder. Then, use a KM navigation iview pointing to that folder with your preferred Layoutset (or a standard one; NewsBrowser) to display the items for your users.

Currently (until Webpage Composer is released Q2-Q3 this year, it's the easiest (but not the best and only) way to turn your portal into a content management system.

Hope this clarifies!

Regards,

Hans Petter

Hi,

With the XML Forms Builder, you create new forms for form-based publishing.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/8f/fe743c74fa6449e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

You can find a how-to guide on creating XML forms on the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides ® Portal, KM and Collaboration ® KM.

Hi,

You cannot use KM Navigation instead of the XML formsbuilder. In the formsbuilder you create the templates you can use in either KM navigation iview or KM document iviews. In the mentioned iviews you can only view these documents.

I'm not sure if I'm getting your problem here, but the template you create in the formsbuilder is simply a collection of fields (e.g. Title, Date, Creator, Body, Links, Images) that together make up the structure of an article (in portal: XML Forms Document).

The iview is located in your PCD (portal content directory) under:

pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.km.ContentManager/iViews/com.sap.km.FormsBuilder

It is also included in the role "Content Manager".

Regards,

Hans Petter
