CRM 5.0 Experience

We are planning to upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 5.0 SP07

1) What are your experiences with CRM 5.0 and/or MSA 5.0 ? Good, bad, suggestions, ...

2) What were difficulties, best practices, tips & tricks, ... with a similar upgrade ?

Hi Ronny,

Mobile Sales migrated to .Net Technology with release 5.0 and since the underlying technology has changed, there were some stability issues. But the product is becoming stable by the day and the pain points reported are being addressed with maximum priority. So the experience with release 5.0 (according to me - my own personal opinion) can only get better

I'm sad to say that MSA 5.0 SP06 (the version I'm running) has several bugs (some of them serious). I've implemented so many notes and debugged so much code it's a bit frustrating...

By now I've got most things working correctly but in my opinion this release has some unacceptable bugs, which can only have resulted from lazy testing.

MAS for Visual Studio has it ups and downs....The interface is better, coding is easier, but the program is still very unstable (as in 4.0). It crashes some times, and has a memory leak problem that's very annoying (although it only occurs occasionally).

As for upgrades, I cannot give much input since I've never performed an upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0

PS: If you plan to upgrade BW to 2004s BI, it's very bad. Basically SAP forgot that MSA integrates with BW, so everything related to BW reports stops working....you have to implement a lot of notes to get things working again. That was the most ridiculous situation I've seen.
