internet and SAP. can both b use simultaneously?

i mean. i was told b someone that we cannot use internet while using sap, coz small infection can delete files necessary for sap. so if i have to use some special security like macafee or some other antivirus, please suggest me. because of this i have to use dual operating systems. and is windows vista good for SAP?

Hi amjad,

If it is a server it is not advisable to use internet on that operating system.

Better use another OS to access to the internet. If the OS is corrupted then u have to reinstall the SAP once again. So don't use SAP and internet in the sap system if it is a server machine.

hi ,

You can very well use SAP with internet as many times it is linked in SRM and similar modules. and about Windows vista , it has come to market recently , so not much idea about the performance .
