I have a question about creating an employee in BYD.

To create an employee in BYD, do I need to create a business partner in business partner data work center, then it will be automatically created as a business user in Application and User Management work center?

As far as I know, I need to assign the business partner role to the new business partner. However, I do not know how to assign a business partner role to the new BP.

Please let me know if you know this.

Best Regards,

Junghwan Park

Hi Junghwan,

You can hire an employee in ByD using the below steps.

  1. Go to Personnel Administration work center.
  2. Navigate to the Regular Tasks view.
  3. Select the country in which you have to hire an employee for your company.
  4. Choose Hire Employee link.

Please refer the screen shot below for more details. You can directly enter details of the employee you want to hire and save. You do not need to create any Business Partner related information to simply hire someone as an employee any were else.

I hope this helps with your issue. Do let me know if you have any additional queries on the same.

Regards,

Anand

Hi Anand,

It is very lucky for me to meet you.

Thanks to your help, I have created an employee successfully.

I used to create a new employee in Cloud for Customer. I tried to create a new employee in the BYD. However, it did not work like C4C.

Since you showed me where the menu is to create a new employee very clearly, I was able to follow your steps easily.

I have some general questions about implementation of BYD for the multi-country project.

1. In C4C, there is a language adaptation. Is there a language adaptation in BYD as well? For example, by using the language adaptation, we can change UI Text from Korean to English or Korean to Korean or English to Korean.

2. Once I changed language in the BYD from English to Korean manually, if I we decide to deploy Korean Localization pack to the system, the language setting is overwritten or disappeared? Are there any issues?

3. Once I complete configuration tasks for an organization (Korea) in BYD, can I copy and phase the configuration setup that I already completed for Korea to other organizations such as USA or China?

If you know any questions above, please answer them. Otherwise, I really appreciate your help on creating a new employee.

Thank you,

Junghwan Park

Hi Jung,

I apologize for the late response. Please find below my response to your questions.

1. In C4C, there is a language adaptation. Is there a language adaptation in BYD as well? For example, by using the language adaptation, we can change UI Text from Korean to English or Korean to Korean or English to Korean.

No the language adaptation available in C4C is not available in ByD. Once ByD moves completely into HTML 5 and responsive UI which is the same as C4C the above feature should be available (this is not a confirmation). ByD has only been recently been moved to HTML and it needs to be stabilized before further enhancements are provided.

2. Once I changed language in the BYD from English to Korean manually, if I we decide to deploy Korean Localization pack to the system, the language setting is overwritten or disappeared? Are there any issues?

Since I am not an expert with respect to localisation I am not the correct person to answer it. May be if you raise this as a separate thread you might get the response from experts.

3. Once I complete configuration tasks for an organization (Korea) in BYD, can I copy and phase the configuration setup that I already completed for Korea to other organizations such as USA or China?

I am assuming the configurations are being performed in Organisational management ? There are options to copy information from different org units to others. However what extend of the information from an org management can be copied to and from is not specified. This will also depend on the end user as to how much information they need to copy on the same.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Anand.
