WM: Cycle counting

Hi Gurus,

In my company’s warehouse we want to do a cycle counting on some bins using LX26 code.

It creates an error while creating and activating document (with LX26) “Quant 0001324568 for storage bin 08-xy-b cannot be counted”.

This error comes in case of any material from the same bin is used for process order and TR is created and waiting TO to be confirmed into interim storage location (GI for production) and dynamic bin (process order number as storage bin until it is confirmed)

Can I have a solution for this?

    Hello Shiv,

If there is any open TO (not TR) for any of the material then you want be able to create inventory document, if you are working on ECC 5.0 and older version. This functionality is available from ECC 6.0.

You can cancle that TO or process with confirmation then it will allow to activate inventory document.

    Hope this helps.

      Hello Shiv,

Cycle count is possible in two ways, in the both procedure it will consider the ABC indicator from the material master. Based on this ABC indicator it will calculate the next count due data.

      1. Cycle count for material at bin level (LX26)

When you execute cycle count with bin (LX26), the system will check material's due data from last inventory date for that material and/or last inventory data for bin. In this case, even if one material is due for count it will generate inventory document for entire bin.

This method is not suggested when there are mix storage in the bin.

      2. Cycle count for material at Material level (quant level)

With cycle count for material at quant level, the system will consider the last inventory data of the quant (inv data in LQUA table) and it will calculate the inventory due date for that quant. If the inv data in not available in quant data (LQUA table) it will consider the last putaway date as a last inventory date for that quant.

This method is suggested when mix storage is allowed and you do want to count inventory for only due materials.

Now it's upto the business which method they want to use.

      Hope this clarifies in details.
