Hi Guys
I have a scenario where the client is creating configurable products in R/3 using VC and now they want to pull all the configurable products from R/3 to CRM and want to show the service orders with configurable products in CRM .
They are not gonna create any configurable product in CRM but only want to use the products created in R/3.
So for this scenario
I am gonna install IPC Server , IPC WebApplication (without PME as we wont be doing any modeling in CRM).
So would it be enough if i install IPC Server and can i safely assume that once the products are downloaded correctly , i will be able to display the prices ?
what are the additional things i need to do from installation point of view to make sure
configurable products prices are displayed correctly.
Thanks and Regards
Kris
Hi Kris,
You just need to follow the standard IPC installation as per the install document. There is no seperate configuration for configurable products. Product configuration from CRM will get automatically picked by the IPC ans as well pricing.
Make sure to download the configuration profile and knowledgebase object for each configurable product into CRM
I am currently working on a similar scenario in ECC 5.0 vs CRM 5.0.

you are correct. until CRM 4.0 IPC (which includes SCE) is a seperate instance all together. But from CRM 5.0 the IPC is part of CRM as VMC. Along with standard SAP CRM installation IPC (which includes SCE). will get installed.
In CRM 4.0 also you don't need to install anything specific to SCE (wich is an integral part of IPC), but I believe you need to very few configuration setttings to activate the product configuration.
Use the tcodes SM52 and SM53 to administrate the new VMC in CRM 5.0
