HANA Express Ed 2.0 and Cockpit

Hello,

I installed HANA Express Ed 2.0 (VM) and I struggle to find the HANA Cockpit env as described in the HANA admin doc. I have cockpit-admin-web-app started and when I type the url (connect with xsa_admin), I obtain a poor screen (see enclosed file) with none of the options like database available. I see things related to ressources, users and that's all though I would like to access database explorer. Why ?

Best regards

    Hello Jean-Christophe,

Please use the XS Command-Line Interface to verify the HANA Cockpit Cockpit HTTPS address and port.

Please also check, that all cockpit-* services have been started:

    Best regards

May be true that Cockpit Manager is a little buggy. The image you have posted does not reveal the port number!

But your requirement, as you said, is to access the DB Explorer.

In that case there are two options as i know:

    1. I prefer to click on the DB Explorer from the WebIDE on the second icon on left hand side as in db-explorer.png
    2. can also access it from the bottom right hand side of the Admin Cockpit, as in cockpit.png

    Hello again,

I just ran into another worry relating to the tenant database: I have systemdb (ok) and the tenant database hxe, created at setup but not started. I started it with the following command which worked fine:

    ALTER SYSTEM START DATABASE HXE

Then I wanted to "explore" it but I had the following message:

I was then unable to find any info about how to register a tenant db. Any help pls ?

Here is something on the portal that might help. You register additional tenants with cockpit.

    https://help.sap.com/doc/6b94445c94ae495c83a19646e7c3fd56/2.0.00/en-US/4e2e8382f8484edba31b8b633005e937.html

You may also go to /usr/sap/HXE/home/bin directory and use the register_cockpit.sh script to register your tenant DB. eg.

    ./register_cockpit.sh -action register -u xsa_admin -p <Your xsa_admin password> -i 90 -tu tel_admin -tp <your tel_admin password> -d HXE

    Thx Xuelian !!

Another question about installing HANA client in 32b mode.

I have installed HANA client in 64b mode so far, which works fine for HANA Studio etc... One of my colleagues would like to use Visual Studio 2013 with our HANA db in order to create SSIS jobs to populate HANA from SQL Server db. Visual Studio is 32b, so I need to install the 32b version of HANA client. The problem is I can not find how to do it. I have the following dir HDB_CLIENT_WINDOWS_X86_64, which I used to install the 64b version and seems to have the 32b also (x86), but no way. When I want to install a new client, the only version offered is 64b.

    Any help please ?

    Regards
