Creating navigation links

Hi all,

I have to create a custom Top Level Navigation. The navigation iview should contain some links say

1. News

2. Home

3. Chat

...

..

..

How do i do this? Please tell me the steps involved.

How to use navigation nodes, connectors & navigation tag libraries in this case ?

Please give me the links to some pdfs that contain the step by step approach for this.
