How to update a field in transaction based on Result of Email/fax request


We have a custom BSP which uses CL_BCS class to send out communications (Email/Fax). Now, I need to know how to determine the result of communication (email/fax sent successfully or failure) and update a field in SAP CRM transaction (Activity) based on it. Can someone help me with it ? If this issue is already discusses please direct me to the relavant link.

    I hope you are using SEND_REQUEST->SEND to send the mail/fax.

    If its sent successfully then SENT will be "X'. If SENT is initial, then its failed..

    Based on this, you can update the CRM tables..

              RESULT = SENT.
