Error from Support Desk : Connectivity issue?

Hi there

I am pulling my hair out trying to get the configuration done between EP and BI in our 2004s system.

I can't run the template installer correctly, and have now started checking in the support tool, as mentioned in note 937697. We have eliminated most of the red traffic lights, but 2 of the 3 remaining lights give a problem with the error/remedy error.

Both of them state:

Check Error - Check could not be executed because retrieval of WebAS ABAP settings failed

Remedy - Check connectivity to WebAS ABAP and make sure the ABAP coding correction from note 937697 is applied in the latest version available

1. I don't know how to check connectivity to the WebAS ABAP ... where can I check this, and where can I configure it. If I use the WebAS ABAP Settings tab, it displays nothing, so I am wondering if perhaps there is some config missing somewhere along the line that tells the J2EE engine where ABAP is

2. I am told by our basis team that the ABAP corrections from 937697 have been applied, so I am hesitant to think that is the problem.

Any useful ideas out there?
