New Tax Category !!

Hi All,

This is Budget Time and thus a major change has been made. Introduction of New Secondary Education Cess Category in addition to existing Education Cess. How can this be incorporated in SAP? Do I need to create new field for this category? Where Do I need to make modification? What T-Codes to be used?

Plz Elaborate as this is a critical Issue.

u need to go through the Master SAP notes for this.

Infact u have misunderstood wht they have wanted to say.

It is not an increase fro 2% to 3%.It is an additional 1% levied as Secondary education cess,for which patches may need to be applied(Depending on the latest patch that ur client has)

Well, this is not my post, I saw the issue being addressed in one of the posts.

Hi Sudhanshu,

Every time when there are major changes inthe budget affecting the business process SAP releases notes relating to the same. This has happened in case of NCCD(national calamity contigency duty) and education cess(Ecess).

They will create a help desk fand you need to go to service.sap.com to find out which are all the notes that were released by SAP and then SAP will also indicate with which name you have to log in all the issues.

1. Ensure that the below mentioned prerequisites have been met before

applying the corrections including code, DDIC, function module, screen

changes, that are present in this note:

o 927189 - To prioritize the order in which the related notes in this

note are to be applied, refer to the attachment

'Master_Note_for_Budget_2007.zip' present in the note 1032265.

o Configure the tax and pricing for SD as suggested in the attachment

'SECess-SD-config.zip' present in the note 1032265. For customers

using the tax procedure TAXINN, also refer the attachment

'SECess_Config_for_TAXINN.zip' present in the note 1032265.

o Make the screen changes as suggested in the attachment

'Screen_changes_budget_2007.zip' present in the note 1032265.

2. Apply the code corrections present in this note.
