Creating Infoobject using: BAPI_IOBJ_CREATE

Hello Community,

I am calling the BAPI: BAPI_IOBJ_CREATE to create an infoobject via BAPI call.

Now my question. Since the ObjectCatalog entry is $tmp I cannot transport the infoobject. Is there a way to use a BAPI to set a transportable Object Catalog Entry (Package) ?

Thanks for help 😊

Andreas

    Hello,

I did something similar, but not using a BAPI. After the InfoObject was created I changed the development class in the table TADIR to what I wanted it to have via UPDATE. Then I used the FM 'TR_APPEND_TO_COMM_OBJS_KEYS' to add the InfoObject to the transport. Especially the first part is a bit tricky as you need to be careful with direct updates on the table TADIR. There is probably a smarter way doing this.

Another (manual) way doing this is the transport connection in the Administrator Workbench. You collect the created InfoObjects and assign them to a development class and a transport. I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Stefan

      Hey Stefan 😊

      Thanks for your reply.

I seen the table and it could be possible to do it as you proposed. The problem is I do not want to deliver a new BAPI to the customer. I am searching for a solution that comes within SAP BW or R3.

      Any other ideas?

      Thank you,

      Andreas
