Master data maintained in APO

Former Member

Hi,

Master data is CIFed from ECC to APO. Some of this master data is then maintained in APO such as delay panalities, non delivery and storage costs, priorities etc.

I am not sure how far I am justified in asking this question, but can somebody give out or refer to documentation on complete list of master data that needs to be changed in APO?

The other question that comesup to my mind then is there would be many locations, products, PPMs etc. and do we change all of them manually? I guess we have the option of going for a user exit APOCF010. Is this used or is there any other way of doing it?

Thank you.

If linked to R3 by CIF, there are two sets of APO data . One is R3 Data and the other is APO specific data(as in the examples you have given), that cannot be derived from R3. normally create and maintain master data in the execution system

as much as possible, its prefereable that you do not overwrite this in APO (the next CIF will re-write this anyhow)

you can use User exits to change Masterdata while getting transferred between R3 to APO so the field in R3 has a different value and that in APO has a different one. But it may not make sense to add any all New masterdata with this

The user exit you mentioned is just one of a whole list - each of which can be used to map a copmponent of Transaction data or Masterdata between R3 and APO

you can find the whole list here

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/987337e68ae526e10000009b38f889/content.htm

The list of masterdata that should be maintained in APO depends on what you are doing in APO . (SNP1 fields for eg in some cases dont have to be maintained at all if you dont use costs). Out of this list exclude what is available in R3 and is CIFed and you will be left out with the list of fields that you need to maintain in APO.

In addition to the MASSD, as mentioned by Digambar (which is something you would want to handle very carefully), You can also load data into APO by LSMW. There are other 3rd party tools to load data as well

Also as he mentioned Profiles (may not cover all fields you need )can be used but be aware that they will override the values that are transferred or loaded into APO directly.

Hi Vishu ,

Yo can refer the link Master Data in APO for the applicationwise data required for APO.

Also if you want the common data to be maintained for all products at same time ,maintain a profile and attach to these products ,which if required to be changed can change in that profile and this change would be applicable to all products for which this profile is attached .

Also in Transaction MASSD - Mass Maintenance you can change the field in the master data for the selected products .

I think user exit APOCF010 is someway related to inbound processing(Sales & Distribution)

Hope this helps.

Hai Digs,

Thanks for the reply. You answered second half of my question, we can use MASSD transaction to make changes in more than one product simultaneously. One more thought...what if some of them have different values to be changed for the same field?

Regarding the first half, I am trying to get a list of fileds that need to be updated after CIF transfer.

I made a small list here. I would appreciate if anyone can edit/add anything to this list:

Product(Mat1)

Admin tab: SNP Planner, Transportation Planner,

SNP1 tab: Penalty for ND, Delay penalty, Maximum delay for both Penalty costs and Location dependent penalty costs.

SNP2 tab: Demand Profile, Supply Profile,

Procurement tab: Procurement type, Procurement cost, Production storage cost

GR/GI tab: Goods receipt time, Goods issue time, StorageCons per BUn(with units)

Storage Resource, Transportation (Res01): These resources need to be created in APO as there are no storage resources in ECC.

Locations:

General Tab:

Geographical Data, Longitude, SGN, Deg, Minutes, Seconds, Latitude, SGN, Deg,

Minutes, Seconds, Time Zone, Priority

Address tab: Check Address

Calendar tab:

Production calendar, Warehouse calendar, Shipping calendar

Resource tab: enter in the Storage Resource section the name of the storage resource created in the above resource creation

SNP tab: ATD receipts & ATD issues

SNP PPMs(SCC05): Basically all descriptions as they are not transferred from ECC

1. In the Change plan ...view in the right part of the screen copy the plan number into the Description field (required step).

2. In the Operations section, enter the description of the operation and double-click on the table row to get to the Activities section (optional step).

3. Maintain the description of your activities.

4. In the left hand side of the screen select go to the section Production Process Models.

5. Double-click on the name of the Production Process Model.

6. Modify the Lot size range on the right hand side of the screen.

7. Enter the following values: Minimum: 0; Maximum: 9999999.

I understand most of them are as per the business requirement. I would appeciate if anybody else can add/edit to the above list.

Thanks.
