automatic freezing of asset

Can assets be shutdown or freeze automatically in SAP 5.0? e.g. a company code has to freeze 70 assets. Can they be freeze automatically?

If they all belong to same Asset Class, lock it via OAOA. You can use AS05 as well.

Yes, they belong to same asset class. but we have to freeze 70 assets out of 100 assets from same asset class. And if we block the asset class, It will block all of them. Please guide me on this.

Hi Divya,

You can deactivate the asset master by setting the blocking indicator in the asset master record. Once the blocking indicator is set, you can no longer post acquisitions to this asset. The idea behind this, for example, is to prevent future postings to an asset under construction once the project is complete.
