Hi,

Have you deployed ESS Applications .SCA.

In tat case, please check whether the persinfo applications are started properly.

blank screen comes when the applications are not available.

Hi Sharaqdha,

I have installed all the below backages:

BP_ERP5ESS

SAP_ESS

SAPPCUI_GP

Can you elaborate on how to check the persinfo applications.

Hi Debasish,

Please check if the ess business package is deployed. You can go to Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> sap.com -> click on the application -> run as preview. Check if you are able to view it there.

Secondly, also check the permissions assigned to the iviews, in this case the personal information iview.

Hope that helps.

Hi Sunil,

I can run the applications from Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> sap.com -> click on the application -> run as preview.

But when I am running the same applications under the ESS roles its showing blank screen for few iviews.

The problem is not linked with permission as I have super_admin_role.

Any Suggestion?

Hi Debasish,

What are the roles and profiles you have on the backend ?

Can you preview the iview from Portal Content ?

Hi Sunil,

The problem is that when the web-dynpro applications are visible when I am going through Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> sap.com.

When I check the iview properties of the ESS ivews which are showing blank, I found the Application Name and Application Namespace properties are totally missing

When I tried to create a new ess iview under portal content, I found that the corresponding ess-applications are mising(not visible).

Is there any way to solve it.

Dear Debasish,

Ideally, you should be able to see the application details but now that it is not available, you have two options:

1) Deploy the business package again (recommended)

2) Manually fill in the application details ( work around)

And now that you can see the applications running in Webdynpro -> sap.com, it's easy to fill in the application details.

<b>Eg. Leave Request Application</b>

Namespace : sap.com/ess~lea

Application Name : LeaveRequest

Webdynpro Defination Type : Java

System: SAP_WebDynpro_XSS or the alias for HR system

Let me know if you need any help on this.

Dear Sunil,

Thanks for your replies.

The problem with the iviews are that the corresponding properties are missing ( Namespace, Application Name). So I cannot fill them up. I even tried transporting the iviews from some other portal where its working, but as soon as I am inporting them to the portal, the iview properties goes missing.

I have tried creating new ivews from the application, but the inside application is missing, though the outer namespce exsits ( I can see the applications under contentadmin -> webdynpro though).

Is there any way I can correct the web-dynpro applications ( once the webdynpro application get corrected, the corresponding properties in the iview will automatically reflect).

Any Suggestion( or do we have to install it again)..

Hi,

Now that you know the name of the applications, you can always fill in the details manually. Give a try. Let me know where are you facing a problem. You just have to see the application details in Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> sap.com and then fill in the application details in the iview. Try it for one application and check it.

The other option is deploying it again.

By the way, what's the version of ESS you are using ? And what's the version of corresponding backend system (ECC & HCM). Hope there is no compatibility issue there ? Would also ask you to check the configuration in IMG.

Hi Sunil,

Their are no properties in the ivew named Application Name etc..where I can fill up the properties. Otherwise I would have done that.

I don't think there is any compatability problem as the problem lies in the web-dynpro applications.

My backend is ECC 6.0 and portal is EP 7.0 ap 10. The BP is webdynpro based ESS 5.0

Hi,

Well, that's surprising. Can you check what kind of an iview is it ? Is it a webdynpro(Java) iview ?

I don't understand this statement of yours : I have tried creating new ivews from the application, but the <b>inside application</b> is missing, though the outer namespce exsits ( I can see the applications under contentadmin -> webdynpro though). Do you mean to see you are not able to see anything under sap.com/ess~lea -> Applications or for that matter any other functionality ?

But I remember you saying that you can run the applications from Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> sap.com -> click on the application -> run as preview

If you are <b>not</b> able to locate the applications under sap.com/ess~xxx -> applications, then it definately looks like ESS deployment issue. In this case, this surely needs to be deployed again.

I have the same problem as same as you . It seems some special HR Country of webdynpro application is not deploy to EP. So I have to create a new Ivew through "Iview template->webdynpro ivew" , give the namespace and applicaiton(that get from content administrator>webdynpro) name, assign it to corresponding page and it works . But I do not think this is a good method to solve this problem .

I am very confused why some webdynpro special country's application is not registered in EP ? it cause some special country's ESS Iview's name space and application missing and cannot display any content .

Anyone can help ? Thanks so much .
