but after installing ftp and setting it up the file is not being picked up
in the adapter monitoring

last retry interval started 14:56:36 2007-02-27
one more thing wat do we mean byt he ftp server
Hi Jaya,
just check whether your FTP server is up and running currently......
just check whether the username and password in your File adapter in ID in XI are correct for accessing the FTP server......
one more thing wat do we mean byt he ftp server - see you have to send a file via FTP to a target machine.....so that target machine is referred to as FTP server in your this scenario.
Thanks,

Do try with that !!
Also make sure that you have given proper read/write access to the folder which is being accessed.

Hi,

Try logging into the FTP server with the user Id and pwd manually and check if you are able to do it.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. As the name suggests, it is used for transfering files. 2 operations posssible in FTP are
1.PUT - to write a file
2. GET - To read/retrive a file.
