Hello.

could you clarify if .NET 4.7 is officially supported by the latest Crystal Reports for Microsoft Visual Studio SP20? If not, could you share plans on when we could expect .NET 4.7 is officially supported by Crystal Reports for Microsoft Visual Studio?

thanks in advance,

Gleb.

There is a link in the "Related Content" section of the Crystal for VS wiki (which is where you download the SDK files) that will take you to the "Supported Platforms" document. This document is kept current and provides information about about many things, including which .NET versions are supported. According to this document, .NET 4.6 is supported, but 4.7 is not mentioned, so it's not supported yet. Since I don't work for SAP, I can't tell you when it will be supported.

Since it was released after SP 20 was then no it won't be Officially supported.

Have you run into any problems using it?

In our internal testing, we did not see incompatibilities of CR SP20 with Windows 10 Creator’s Update (which also includes .NET 4.7). However, we can hardly announce compatibility before CR support of that is official.

Our testing was, however, limited as it did not include server-side report rendering by ASP.NET application, which may be affected if .NET 4.7 is installed on the server. Since in previous CR runtime had issues when .NET was updated, and given that MS is now pushing .NET 4.7 as a recommended update, this case will become more and more asked about by our customers.

Best regards,
Gleb.
