SAP BO 4.2 SP3: Web Service Override settings in Promotion Management

Hi All,

We have multiple BI Web services (Which are Webi report blocks published as Web services) available in our environment and we are noticing a change in SAP BO 4.2 SP3 version to set Override settings in Promotion Management tool.

In Previous version SAP BO 4.1 SP6, we were able to set Override setting for a Single QaaWS connection and get the Web service URL Server name change automatically after promoting to a Target system. For example Dev to QAS, The Dev server name automatically changes to QAS server name after promotion to QAS system.

In SAP BO 4.2 SP3 we are observing that all the Web services are getting displayed/available when we select Override settings. Does this mean Override settings for each Web service need to be set up separately? Or is there any way like in the previous versions where we can set the QaaWS connection override setting once and that gets applied to all the Web services in the system during Promotion to a different system.

Please share any inputs/reference documents/SAP Notes related to this.

Hello Anil,

In 4.2 overrides, the flash dependency is gone with the new fiori style html5 interface for overrides showing both source/destination side by side, however there is no change in the scan results display. Both QAAWS & BI Webservices should show up in the scan results and both should show unique override connection results. There were some performance improvements which pushed dependency calculation to backend but this doesnt affect overrides.

I checked and did not find any known issue with this area. Depending on the element that the BI web services is created from, its possible you are seeing genuine multiple results but in case you are seeing duplicate qaaws or biws connections, then you should log an incident to get it checked.

Hello Shiva,

Thank you for sharing the details. We have created Override in 4.2, for Dev - QA promotions and now when we promote BI Web services from Dev to QA, the Server name in Web service URL is automatically changing from Dev server name to QA server name.
