How to manage informations ?

Hello

I am actually gathering a lot of informations of system and application problems. As well as their sideeffects to other applications and the solutions if avialable.

Well, the fast growning amount of information is amazing. I am searching now for a tool / hint / best practis how to manage the interaction / links between the problems.

I hope to find a way to "map" to a problem all the known effects on systems, business processes or teams (eg. support, development). So, that in case of a reoccurence, of this or a similar problem a solution is faster found. And teams are better informed since there is already a knowledge base....

I played a little bit with mind and concept maps but they actually do not provide a good modell most have a "top down", or "main to branch" approch.

Thanks a lot for any hint

Michael

You looking for something along the lines of a Wiki or a Mind Mapper?

I think a mind mapper would actually work, I use a simple online one called : http://www.bubbl.us/

    Hello,

    thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately I do not look for a mindmapper tool:

"I played a little bit with mind and concept maps but they actually do not provide a good model most have a "top down", or "main to branch" approach. "

I have the following in use, for other issues:

    http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I guess but that I this what I need is more toll to support "semantic networks" I liked to avoid the name to prevent that the tread is driven in this direction. So if anyone tried to "map" individual knowledge pieces I would be more that happy to exchange experience,

    Thanks a lot

    Michael

Have you checked out a wiki approach with "tagging" to link your items and related items together that way? My gut still says a proper mind map would work but perhaps an environment to give you the ability to "tag" and relate to those tags?
