MR21 issue after price changes

HI Experts,

Our client has been did the mistake instead of INR currency he was created the PO for CHF currency. But When they are trying MIRO invoice to push the workflow they get the error message.

Material master recrord price #70560 and inventory value as 493921 INR.

Error: price for material will be negative:

Suggested to client. Please increase the price in the material master record such as #150000 (through MR21). as per suggestion they have changed per unit price 150000. and inventory value increased # 1050000.

after above changes has been done we have pushed that invoice to the workflow. We cannot see any issue. after pushed to work flow we have replaced old price such as 70560.

Now issue is : G/l account and cost center hanging the balance :

696,255.67

Now client request for us need to correct the Material value 696255 which it is lying in GL XXXXX as a credit

Take help from your FI consultant, to make enable your stock account from manual posting.

Post the General entry for that particular GL XXXXX credit - & Stock Account Debit +

The P.O which was created by wrong CUR should have been cancelled at the beginning.

Since the mistake was done, I suggest a manual posting with FB01 to clear the difference, that should resolve the issue.

thank u very much your swift response.

We have tried to post the manual entry through FB01. for price diff a/c is dr and stock a/c is credit. But this price diff account related MM we cannot post directly through FB01. Getting below the error message

Account XXXXX (price Diff) can only be posted to internally in company code.

posting Key used for 83 and document type SA or PR.

Dear Reddyr,

You should call MR22 to correct the inventory value. Guess you may need to debit the material in your scenario (Correct me if am wrong).It will generate the accounting entry Dr. Inventory and Cr.Price difference.

a wrong advice ended in chaos!!! Instead of focusing to "push" the invoice through and changing a material price you should have corrected the PO.

Since your story is far to short for a diligent solution and even not consistent between your values in the description and the values shown in the screenshot you should try to explain and show your postings again with more detail from the very start.

It is not yet known if you have a goods receipt at all, and if, if it was done prior or after the invoice receipt.

It is further not known if there were already goods issues after goods receipt and/or invoice receipts.

Pushing a solution for this critical situation can make your situation even worse if you have not understood the situation in its completeness.

Start your story from the PO and tell quantity and price.

Then continue by the next event in sequence, what was posted quantity and value wise, along with showing the account postings, so that we know which accounts have been affected in which way.

do this for all postings that happened until now. Only then a diligent solution can be suggested.
