hi masters,

i like to know info about datasource enhancements i.e customizing my bi content objects with respect to business requirement scenarios

i just want step wise solution and if possible tell me what are in general feilds we add while customizing my data source

plz don't answer in generic way by giving help.sap.com links

Hi Shakira ,

Data source enhancement is used ti fullfil the customising requirement .For eg. after analysing the standard data source in LBWE u come to know that a filed is not avalaible . For this first u have to add this field to the Extract structure of that Data source using Append structure , then u have to write a user exit code in CMOD unde RSAP0001 to populate that field in the R/3 side .

In BW repliction and mapping in transfer rules ...

we go for datasource enhancement when the standard datasource provided by SAP does not fully serve our business requirement, so we enhance the datasource and add few fields to it.

Hi Shakira,

Apart from complying with what Arun has said, Let me give you a fair idea of the enhancements. For example: if you know some of the standard time characteristics. There is no standard time characteristic called as FISCAL WEEK . But you have a report in BW which is based on FISCAL WEEK then you need to enhance your content by this field.
