Hi,
I have a scenario wherein the raw material is having base UOM as EA and issue unit as KG. Also the 30 KG= 1EA conversion is added. I the BOM for FG this material is in KG so the requirement calculated as per BOM is in KG but in the stock requirement list the requirement is generated as 1 EA even if the qty required is 1.2 KG. Unnecessary 30 KG i,e, 1 EA requirement is generated.. ANy suggestion for this scenario other than making Base unit of measure as KG ?
Hi Anand,
Maintain the component UoM Kg in BOM of header material.

Hi Anand,
As I said, the system is working correctly,
What you can do it that, in CUNI you can make the EA basu unit of measure with the decimal places.

Hi Solomon,
Many thanks!!
I was just thinking on if there can be an enhancement done while creation of the requirement to club all the demand in KG and convert it into EA for ex. Plan order 1 = issue qty 1.2 KG, plann order 2 = issue qty 2 KG simillarly when there be plan order enough to equal 30 KG requirement then MRP should generate the procurement proposal for 1 EA.
What say on this ?
Thanks
Anand
Hi Solomon,
I have a restriction to not to change the BUOM or CUNI settings as well for the UOM EA or PC.
Is there any other way based on lot size or Reorder point planning to make sure exact requirement is generated or requirement is clubbed anyhow so as to prevent the excess qty proposal from getting generated ?
Thanks
Anand
Hi Anand,
I think the system is working correctly. you have maintain the unit EA, rather than you have to maintain unit PC
The difference between each an piece is that , in each you can not have the decimal places and in pieces you can have decimal places.
Have you maintain the production unit.
The best solution would be to change the base unit from EA to PC.

Solomon

Hi Solomon,
Many thanks for addressing to the issue that I am facing. I have maintained issue unit and purchase order unit of measure both as KG. I agree to the point that I can make Base UOM as PC so that I can maintained it in decimals but this is not possible as business wont allow it. Another thing is that there is a conversion of 1 EA = 30 KG maintained. When I have a demand of only 1.2 KG suppose for this material still the PR of 1 EA is generated. Is there any other way, I can treat this so as to get the procurement proposal generated of the exact quantity as my demand.
Thanks
Anand
