Hi Folks,

I am new to CIF transfer, so trying to understand the following .

Please help me on this.

I am trying to transfer data from ECC to APO system

I have intergration model in CFM1 and activated the same in CFM2

so everytime when I am transfering the data between ECC to APO i have to go and activate the model using CFM2 or directly i can ran the program RIMODINI.

I am little confused here - for every testing case ( data in integration model is same) do i need to goto CFM2 and RIMODINI or directly i can go and ran RIMODINI.

if there is change in data of integration model then i have to follow CFM1,CFM2 and RIMODINI?

Thanks.

Hello,

I will resume the functionalities of the t-codes and reports you mentioned.

When you run CFM2 t-code, if there is no previous active Integration Model, it will activate it and will run an initial transfer. During the initial transfer, all objects inside the IM will be transferred to APO.

If you run CFM2 and there IS a previous active integration model, it will only transfer the differences between ECC and APO.

When you execute report RIMODINI, it will always perform an initial transfer. Even if there is an active integration model, all objects will be transferred to APO.

So, you would choose RIMODINI when you want to transfer all contents of the IM to APO, no matter if they are in APO or not.

I hope this helps on your inquiries.

Thank you and regards,

I'm also new to this topic, but here are my thoughts and experiences with the CIF transfer

With the Transaction CFM1 you are / can doing two things:

1. You're defining the selection for the future integrationmodel (saving the selection as variant could)

2. You're generating the model by executing the selection

You only need to generate a new integrationmodell when the data with this same selection has been saved (e.g. you're selecting for each Material of one plant and a new material has been created for this plant).

Afterwards you have to activate this model in CFM2 so that this material will be transfered.

When you only need to transfer changes from a material which already was inside of the selection, you don't have to do anything, because each change should be transfered "in realtime".

When you want to automize the generating and activation of the integrationmodel you need to work with variants in TA CFM1 and CFM3 (CFM2 but for jobs). Then you can create a job with the programs RIMODGEN (TA: CFM1) and RIMODAC2 (TA: CFM3).
