EEWB in CRM and BW datasources

Hi Gurus,

I would like to know the following which I was unable to find in CRM side.

1) I wanted to know whether Master Data (Text or Attribute) source will be generated automatically while we enhance the data sources with new fields using EEWB

2) If the data source for Text or attribute will be generated for the required Z fields we have added, please do let me know how to find the same.

3) If it has not been created while we enhance using EEWB, then kindly do let me know what needs to be done regarding the same. Do we need to create the datasource for them.?

Hi!

1) yes generally datasources will be automatically created for the objects created in EEWB

2)yes if the fields are automatically added to standard datasources.

3)If the fields are not added in eewb.. u have to add them manually to data source through enhance structure. and then maintain the mapping to fields and Bdoc fields in BWA1. and then enhance the CRM_BWA_MFLOW

Thanks for the points.

But my question is i am unable to find the Master datasource in CRM which will have these customised fields. I am able to get the data and fields for 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 but few fields( Custom) will have its text data maintained in different datasource like 0CRM_SALES_ACT_TEXT..

How and where to find the same is my question?

Hi!

ya thats true.. each custom data sources must have a separate data source for text. They will be created automatically Only if.. u have created those fields also in EEWB. it is possible to use already existing fields in EEWB in that case u will not get the text data sources. Sooo there are loot of scenarios where u dont get the Text datasources automatically.

If they are created u must be available in 0crm or 0crm_IO application component..if u are not able to find them in RSA6 u must consider that text data sources do not exist for them and hence u have to create them manually as generic data sources in RSO2.. I think in u have to use generic extraction for loading texts for the fields which do not have the text data sources.

Hi Mohan,

Can you give one example of the datasource (Master Data) which was created automatically when you added a new field to the standard datasource (Transacti data) using EEWB. That will help me to figure out my datasource.

Hi!

i don't think we edit the data source using EEWB. In my previous project we added a field to activity one order object lets consider it as account_type . this field was automatically added to 0crm_sales_act_1 but we could not get the text data sources as the field was of some specific type. But there were some other fields for which txt data sources are automatically generated.

hi!

yes.. for extracting texts for account_type we used generic extraction. and not to extract the transaction data fields of activities in 0crm_sales act1

there are some more enhancements to product object with separate settypes developed in EEWB .and there are some fields like finance type and the text data source ZZ_finance_TYPE_TEXT is automatically created.
