Is there a standard BW extractor for the basic Text (A002 Note) types in CRM transactions like Activities / Opportunities?
These are the standard notes that anyone would enter for example on a call with a customer or whomever they are contacting.
If there is not a standard extractor which I believe is the case, is there another method to pull this data into BW to then be used in queries for example a customer 360 view?
Thanks
Sam M.
hi sam
as i mentioned you need to create a data source based on FM. this FM will extract data with the help of function crm_order_read.
Since BW can take 60 chars only in one info object , you need to split the data .To again aggregate the data in report you can write a class and use WAD.
Give me ur mail id , i will send sample code.
Meanwhile go to se 38 and run the report crm_order_read. enter any GUID which you are aware of and run it. Under et_text you will see your data.
Hope this helps.

Monika

Monika,
Thank you again for the information. I understand what you mean by FM (Function Module), can you explain what you mean by WAD?
When you say that BW can only take 60 characters in one info object, what are you referring to? If you create a custom data object in BW, is this the limitation you are referring to?

Thanks again,

(p.s. I will award your points!)

Hi
there is no standard data source to extract the texts. u need to create ur own generic data sources to extract the text notes for activities and all other one order objects.
and it is also not possible to present texts greater than 60 chars in BW... soo even in that case u have to some small custom settings... check the blogs on this issue in SDN for more details.
