what is BI Administration Cockpit and why do we use it?

Recently i came to know about BI Administration Cockpit .what does the function of it.

and where will we use it and how does that work.

BI Admin Cockpit is an evolutionary step of BW Statistics. With the fashion of "cockpits" or "dashboards" the promise of BI Admin Cockpit is that you will get nice overview on the web of what is going on in your BI system, and then you can drill into further details from the starting page.

The motivation behind BI Admin Cockpit is Easy administration for complex Enterprise Data Warehouse. It supports the BI Administrator in various things like status tracking, performance optimization etc. It provides single point of entry with cockpits like Real-time monitors, Runtime Statistics and you can also monitor across the systems. There are drill-down to details to in monitors and even processing options are given. In this way the administration task will become easier and faster. Currently there are 3 main parts in BI Admin Cockpit:

1) Data load Satus

2) Data load Statistics

3) Query Runtime Statistics.

Even ST03/ST03n fetches data from BI Admin Cockpit cubes.

The BI Admin Cockpit is a place where you will be able to get all the statistical information about the BI Application, for example

Runtime of queries, DTP's, Infopackages, processes and so on. All this information is based on the Metadata of the BI application.

This will help you analyse the operational and performance related aspects of the BI application and hence help in focusing on the areas which need improvement. The Admin Cockpit is total web enabled and has drilldown features where you can navigate to the underlying process to some extent.

Moreover quite a lot of the information shown in the Admin cockpit is near online as that is built in the architecture.

BI cockpit is mainly a set of web reports which show statistics on the performance of data warehouse.
