SAP Delivery due list batch job

Former Member

Scanaro:

Delivery is created through batch job.

Program: RVV50R10C

Variant:

Shipping point

Rule for determining default value for delivery creation date - 2 today and tommorow.

The system creates deliveries for orders even if the stock has not been moved to bins yet from the interim location. Process is followed by TO creation which fails due to insufficient stock at the bin location.

Is there a way by which the batch job stops the delivery creation for the order if the order related stock item has not been moved to the storage bins yet.

Thanks and regards,

Asif

Hi,

one possibility to cover your requirement would be the storage location scenario (described here:https://help.sap.com/viewer/34fc810a607e4ae5a287b6e233b8566f/6.18.06/en-US/5292c95360267214e10000000a174cb4.html).

P.S: this is not an EWM question. Well, in EWM actually the storage location scenario is the standard scenario in all set up descriptions. But your refered specically to TOs.

I think you are mixing delivery creation and picking.

Delivery creation is at MM level, picking is a WM level.

The delivery just checks at MM level, and here is your stock probably present, isn't it?

Thanks for the reply.

I know it is a bit tricky.

I agree with you, but the business requirement to stop the creation of delivery when the stock is in interim and not moved to bin yet.

Is there a way out?

can you give any rational behind this requirement?

I could also ask why those goods have not been moved from interim bin to the final bin? What stops this process?

WM even has the option of doing cross docking which means that you not even have to move the goods from the interim bin to the final bin and can directly pick it which saves movements and labor. This however needs a delivery.

I think you should question this requirement and consult them on better solutions.

Hi,

Once delivery is created another batch job runs which creates the TO.

If the material is not in the storage bin, TO creation fails which triggers a message to OM team fro order cancellation.

Business does not want to touch the TO process part, but rather wants to stop the delivery creation.

The receipts are order relevant.

Moving the material from interim to bin is a manual process.

They are aware of the cross docking process, but there are scenarios where GI cannot be done immediately.

The process is already in place and they want to stop the delivery creation in case the material is not in the bin.
