When create an equipment It is saved with different number.

Dear PM experts,

When I create an equipment in IE01 I gave an equipment number as 0000010 (Example). It is according to the sequence order. But after enter all master data of such equipment when I save, new equipment was created. But equipment number was different. When I create I gave 0000010 but wen I save it was another number (12331554552). It was not according to the sequence order.
Then I tried to create new equipment using number sequence which was created at the time of saving(such as 12331554552,12331554553,12331554554). Then system says an error message as,

Equipment number 12331554553 not in external number interval
If it is not in external number interval how was this equipment number created when I save. My question is why does the system create another equipment number when I save instead of equipment number which was given at the time of creation.
Can anyone explain me why is that.

Can you send screen-shots of the equipment number ranges.

Also check whether you are using any developments to automatically determine the numbers.
