Is SAPCCM4X agents required to be running on the managed system hosts for monitoring through MAI

If Technical Monitoring / MAI is fully deployed, do we still need to run SAPCCM4X agents running on the managed system hosts?

If yes, what are the functionalities of Solution Manager that still use these agents?

Are the MAI data collectors category 'CCMS PUSH / PULL not going to use or get impacted if these agents are decommissioned / uninstalled?

Hello Sukruth Nag,

There is no requirement to register or setup CCMS agents. The old CCMS infrastructure has been replaced by MAI.

The data capture from managed systems for Solution Manager monitoring and analysis is performed via RFC's and Diagnostic agent which in turn are connected to SAP hostagents. There are multiple type of extractors that run within solution manager of type Push and Pull which are responsible to capture data.

For MAI, you need to ensure to run latest SAP HostAgent, Diagnostic Agents and have a trusted relationship between the two.

Once you are done with System Prep, Basic Config and Managed system config for your managed system, you just need to create your own templates and activate monitoring. The metrics, thresholds, alerting and auto reactions can be customized based on the requirements.
