SAP IS-UTILITIES -MCF-Implementation timelines

Hi All,

We are planning to implement MCF for one of our IS-Utilities customer and in the process got stuck up with certain grey areas. Have understood MCF architecture and the way it works in a customer landscape.

since, this is our first implementation, not sure, how to proceed and factor implementation timelines?

customer is planning for 20k licenses and has CRM system in their landscape. Please let me know, if you have any standard questionnaire, which we can ask and get more details from the customer.

Thanks,

Vijay

Timelines depend on scope

What type of tool will you be using with MCF? Are all the processes included?

On our MCF project, MCF didn't take up most of the time; it was the interfaces to the tool that took up most of the time.

Hello Tammy Powlas,

Thanks a lot for your valuable time.

Customer wants to implement/expose all core functionalities of SAP MCF-- online account, bill payment, meter readings, utility bills, general enquiries, outages , etc .( I don't have any other info , except above details)

kindly, let me know with your previous experience, how much efforts to quote for an SAP MCF implementation?

I believe following resources are required for a MCF implementation:

1) sr. ABAPER, who has hands-on experience in ODATA services

2) mid level ABAPER..(for extending badi and all other minor works

3) UI5/FIORI consultant for any customization.

4) Project manager

please let me know , if I miss anything and help me with basic MCF questionnaire ,which I can ask the customer ?

Awaiting for your suggestions.

Thanks,

Vijay

Hi Vijay - I am not a consultant, I am a customer so I can't provide quotes

Are you building your own Fiori templates?

You will need an ABAP position and someone who knows SAP Gateway

If you are new to MCF please consider taking this online course: SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities 1.0: Learning Map for Consultants (EKT_MULTICH10CONS) - go to training.sap.com

A project manager is must for the size of your project.

Hi Tammy Powlas,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and really appreciate for taking your valuable time and responding.

I have FIORI implementation experience and also worked on ODATA and GATEWAY. I think, I can do this with out any SAP online course.

As this would be my first assignment on a new product, was curious to know only timeline and nothing much.

Thanks,

Vijay

Our timeline was 8 months, but it had less to do with MCF than the interfaces - e.g. third party credit card interface took extra time due to legal agreements. It wasn't the technology.

Dear Tammy Powlas,

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs. As a customer, you might have gone through all stages of an implementation and gained rich experience on the MCF components. Your real time experience, will definitely help other customers/partners to plan and execute implementation in an efficient way.

Please let me know if I can touch base on your personal mail for any queries.

Thanks,

Vijay
