Error in adding central repository in CMC - Data Services

Hello -

I'm trying to configure a central repository in the CMC - Data Services. The user I'm using to configure central repository is a Domain Service Account which has only READ only access to the central repository. Test connection was successful. However, when I hit save, I'm encountering this error below:

  • Error msg: com.acta.util.ActaException: [The INSERT permission was denied on the object 'AL_MACHINE_INFO', database 'repo_central', schema 'dbo'.]

Can you please advise the minimum DB rights that the domain system user should have on the Central Repository DB in order to configure it successfully in CMC - Data Services?

Another question is, when configuring the central repository in CMC, does it really, update/insert the table in the central repository?

Installation Details:

Information platform services 4.2 SP3 (14.2.3.2132) - en

SAP Data Services 4.2 SP8 (14.2.8.1354) - en

Both IPS and DS are install in Windows 2012 R2 server

DB is on Windows 2012 R2 server, MS SQL Server 2012 SP2

Thanks for your help

Thanks Dirk. Do you know if there is a KBA which I can find the minimum access required for Central and Local Respositories?

Database read access is never sufficient. You need write access to the repository tables. BTW, that's true for local repositories, too.
