Remote Catalogs consumption issue

Hello,

We are on portal version 7.31 SP18. We have created roles and able to see remote catalogs and groups and also able to assign it in the roles. Configuration has been done referring to blog https://blogs.sap.com/2015/06/01/new-sap-fiori-launchpad-on-sap-netweaver-portal-features-nw731-sp16...

But while calling the Fiori launch pad we are not getting tiles.

I have checked with other systems traces (for which tiles are coming in the launchpad) and compred, i have found that Odata service " /sap/opu/odata/UI2/FIORI_CATALOGS/Catalogs?" is not getting called while launching the Fiori launchpad. This service is no where configured on portal side.

Just wanted to know where is the configuration is missing for this odata service ? Could be in web dispatcher ?

PS: This service is active in OData and working fine.

In SICF also it is working fine.

Your Help please.Thanks.

Hi Akshay,

Please check you have assigned the remote content role to the user who you are calling the Fiori Framework Page with. If the role is assigned are there no calls to the remote catalogs via the browser F12 developer tools "Network" tab? A Fiddler or HTTPWatch trace could also be used here,

Best regards,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Yes, i have assigned roles and also have seen traces in network tab (F12) & in Fiddler .There are no calls. may be because of below reason...

One more thing i have observed in NWA logs, i.e. call is being made to other system i mean, we have created copy of system A (gateway system) to system B (gateway system), and we have separate portal for A (P1) & B(P2).

For A (connected portal P1) it is working fine but now in a same way I want to connect other portal (P2) to system B (gateway system).

In NWA system logs and traces i have found that it is giving the error as "Error while converting and adding a remote object A/GROUP/Z_MyHome [EXCEPTION]"

i am wondering, Why portal P2 is trying to get the catalogs from system A ?

Ideally it should get the catalogs from system B (like B/GROUP/Z_MyHome), as i have connected Portal P2 to gateway system B.

Could be because of B is copy of A ? and some configuration is also copied from A to B? But where is this configuration is maintained, we dont have anything like this in portal, right? may be in the gateway system ? or may be copied web dispatcher ? 🙂
