Hi,

It does show you the right cities when you click on California as both San Francisco and Los Angeles are within California.

What happens when you click on Texas? and how do you want it to be?.

Thanks,

Jothi

Is there any detailed level data linked up to State?. I was assuming that when you click on State then 3 cities related to that state will display right results though? what type of analysis you are trying to do when you click on for each city?.

How is your Hyperlink set up?. post a screen shot.

Also do you have any State and Cities linked in the backend?.

Thanks,

Jothi

Hi Jyothi,

I have created 2 reports named Test1 and Test2
Test 1 - State, City and Sales Revenue in Query
But in Report, i am displaying State, City and Revenue

Test 2 : State, City and Revenue Objects and City as Prompt (Inlist)
Report Displaying City and Revenue

My requirement is if i click on Repeatative State object on Summaty Report(TEST1) for eg: Texas, it should relevant cities not all relevant cities of that State has to pass to the TEST2 report..but when i add Hyperlink ( in View->Design mode) on State Object, States are not unique, they are splitting based on Cities...like earlier it used to show only one TEXAS State and Revenue as $10,117,664 and as soon as i placed hyperlionk on state, its splitting into 3 rows for TEXAS showing splitted revenue

Prerequesties:
1.In your target report make sure you added two prompts
a.City
b.State

2.Use the exact prompt text in the url

http://<Server:port>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&sType=wid&iDocID=AbYz6h5mtR5Ard25oITx1uQ&sRefresh=Y&lsSEntertheCity=Plano&lsSEntertheState=Texas

There is another way of showing your analysis

1. Apply break on State and from the properties to show Merge ( that way you will not see duplicate state Names)

2. Create another report that shows Cities with a section on State - This would be your detailed report and when the user clicks on State within Summary report it will direct them to Cities detailed report.

Hope you have got those Prerequisites already. or else you have State and City filters as a prompt defined within Query Panel or Give them another option to change State and City on the city by Input Control (Go with Cascading prompts if you have universe).

Thanks,

Jothi
