Instance notification mails arrive with huge delay

Hi guys

This is very weird !

In a system I am managing, we have a bunch of reports configured to send a mail in case of failure.

The strange thing is that if a report fails on Sunday at 2.20 pm… the mail arrives next Thursday in the afternoon !

Have a look at these screens.

This job failed on Sunday 14th at 2:20 pm

But the e-mail arrived only next Thursday !

I tested the smtp server and it’s responsive ! Mail arrive after few seconds ! Where can I start the analysis ???

This issue might require lot more validation. Do you have distributed BIP deployment? If so does the System clock is in sync with all the clusters in the node.

Hi Manikandan, thank you very much for your reply.

Yes, it's a distributed BIP deployment: there are 4 web server hosts (Tomcat), 4 application server hosts (BI platform) and one database host (MySQL - cms/audit repository).
ALL 9 hosts are synchronized on system time (just checked)

It's likely that the notification email was sitting on the mail spoofing gateway queue for few days ; then, your mail application Admin finds out the mail spoofing queue is full and release them.

Check your mail admin team instead.

Thank you very much for your interest.

I want to add a detail, useful for the analysis: The issue regards the “NOTIFICATION MAIL” in case of failure of a job.

On the same system there are other jobs configured with “DESTINATION: email” and they are working fine: no delays !

However we are now checking with mail server admins if there is something in their queues.
