Can extensive reports be built in CR 2016 and keep formatting intact, after exporting to Excel?

Currently we are testing a trial version of Crystal Reports 2016. We have built a report based on 1 table, and pulled in the data. We would like to build the whole report within CR, as opposed to pulling all the data into 1 table. This report is quite extensive and we need to be able to build the whole report within CR.

The report currently has a separate query for each cell/field, and we would like to be able to build such a report in CR. The report will also need to be exported into Excel, and the report needs to keep the formatting intact within Excel, and then automatically distributed.

3rd-party Crystal Reports tools allow you to automate the process of exporting a report to excel or injecting information from a Crystal report into Excel templates, followed by distribution via email, sftp, etc.
For a list of such tools, see: http://kenhamady.com/productlinks/default.html#desktopsched

If you provide more detail, it may be possible to provide a more targeted answer.
