error downloading data to a excel file

Hi,

I'm having problem with the format of data if I try to download some SAP screen to a local file.

I'm using the export button (if available) or the "jolly transaction" %PC to download the screen to a file.

No problem If I choose txt or rtf format, but if I choose excel format the date are converted in wrong way.

I think it's a excel problem but I have no idea for correct this.

for example: if I have a date 15.02.2007 in excel I will have 0,649618055555556

I'm using excel 2003.

Of course I have tried to choose "cell format" into excel but no way to resolve!

THX in advance

Pierfrancesco

Hello Pierfrancesco,

Incase the task is very urgent, I would suggest you a work around.

  • Export the required data to txt format

  • Open an Excel sheet and choose to open the exported txt file (txt format data)

I usuallly used this method to get data from OS level into Excel sheets & it just works fine with Date formats as well.

Hi,

As workarount I also found this that is a little bit elegant in case you have a WAS 640 or 700.

In this case infact you can export your screen as XML format. And then choose Excel 2003 XML, that is a Kind of Excel file.

You can choose to "save as.." option and create your XLS file in a moment!
