In real time consolidation, entities source accounting data is real time accessed without data replication for consolidation use.

For such purpose, HANA view is used as virtual data model to on the fly aggregate the accounting documents (Universal Journals). HANA views are then assigned to BW composite provider for BPC data reading. To map the master data used in consolidation and the master data used in accounting, the following logic are applied in HANA views:

  • 1)Accounts mapping: The group accounts maintained in operational accounts master data are used for such mapping
  • 2)Period harmonization: entities might use the different fiscal year with what used in consolidation. Therefore, the documents posting date is used to decide the document transaction data belongs to which group fiscal period, per the group fiscal year variant maintained on model master data. Pay attention that accounting side opening data (value in period 000) is not visible to consolidation, the opening flow should come from the consolidation carry forward task
  • 3)Entity and interco entity: accounting side used organizations are mapped to consolidation semantic consolidation entities
  • 4)Transaction type in accounting is directly used as BPC flow. Corresponding flow data could come from several sources:
  • a.Provided in accounting document when manual input the journal, i.e. when generate journal for investment, normally it is mandatory to input the transaction type
  • b.Derived from the fixed asset transaction type. There is mapping table to maintain asset transaction type and accounting transaction type, therefore the transaction type in accounting document for fixed asset will be auto. filled with mapping info.
  • c.Other substitution, derivation enhancement when posting accounting document
  • d.For those no need to further detail transaction type, default transaction type maintained on model master data is used.
  • 5)Group info: fixed value “G_NONE” is filled for source data, customer need to modify HANA view if need different value or logic
  • 6) Audit trail: fixed value “Input” is filled for source data, customer need to modify HANA view if need different value or logic.
