Hello *,
I have installed an ERP2005. After that I installed an EP 7.0 Now my SDM J2EE Process stoped after 20 seconds. I have no solution for that problem yet. Also the log file says was not able to give me an answer. Can anybody help?

Hi,
Even for me in SCM server, facing the same issue that Java is no starting.
When checked into logs, it is saying in dev_bootstrap as:

ERROR => The Java VM terminated with a non-zero exit code.
Please see SAP Note 943602 , section 'J2EE Engine exit codes'
for additional information and trouble shooting.

And in dev_jcontrol

Also tried executing the above commands for SDM in cmd prompt.
when executing startserver.bat for SDM, it is running as :

JStartupFramework is active
Operation mode of SDM in JStartupFramework is "Integrated".
Check if Server is running already.
OK server is not running. Enable SDM Process in JStartupFramework.
Successfully enabled SDM Process in JStartupFramework.

Waiting 5 seconds for SDM server to start...
SDM server not up after 5 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.
SDM server not up after 10 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.
SDM server not up after 15 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.
SDM server not up after 20 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.
But it keeps on going for long time and finally says:
ERROR: SDM server startup not up after 600 seconds.giving up.
could not start SDM. Processing error. Return code:4.
Kindly help in making the JAVA start.

on Command Prompt, go to SDM home directory \usr\sap\<SID>\JC<inst no>\SDM\Program
execute following commands:
sdm.bat jstartup "mode=standalone"
sdm.bat j2eeenginestartstop "mode=automatic"
sdm.bat jstartup "mode=integrated"
startserver.bat
