Creating generic datasource

Hi,

I am creating a generic datasource from transparent etable ZPS005(Purchase Order Erection Detail) haviing fields

MANDT

EBELN

EBELP

ERECDAT

LINEID

POQTY

EREQTY

when i m entering the table name in RSO2 in extraction from database view its giving an error

INVALID EXTRACT STRUCTURE TEMPLATE ZPS005 OF DATASOURCE

cn anyone help me out.

hi,

try by removing some fields from the view and save it because some field may be inconsistent.

i think if the fieleds are key figure (quantity,amount) then you have to pass thwe

reference field also.

You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure ZPS005. This operation failed, because the template structure quantity fields or currency fields, for example, field POQTY refer to a different table.

Procedure

Use the template structure to create a view or DDIC structure that does not contain the inadmissable fields.

Hi,

Check if this table is referncing some other field in other table.

this you can check in the SE12 ->table name-> Currency quantity field->reference table and reference field.

Check if there if POQTY field has some entry for the referencing table or field.

This could be the cause of the issue.

May be you can make a view on those two tables to get these values and use that as for data source creation.

Hi,

Make a view on your Z table and EKPO using the transaction SE11 and here you can create veiw.

Give table names in the left options and it will contain your two tables and in the join options equate the keys of the two tables.

Like EKPO-Keys 1= Z...... -Keys 1.

Do remember that you can only make a view if you have any one key common.

Also make the MANDT field also equal to from both the tables.

In the fields option insert all the fields which you need to pull in BW also the fields from EKPO table which are referenced by the fields of Z table.

Hi Nishu,

Check your extract structure, as the error suggest have a reference field to your quantity field POQTY in the tab Reference/Currency fields.
