Reversing Closed MM Periods

Hi All,

Through MMPV I've closed MM periods up to 2006/10 but I need to revert back to 2006/10 being the current period. Does anybody know if this can be done and how? NB this is in our test client only.

Hi Mark,

You can open / Initialize previous period with MMPI transaction.But there might be inconsistencies if u do the same.

Thanks for the advice which pointed me in the right direction.

The solution was:

1) Go to user id of you in su01

2) go to the parameter tab

3) Maintain the parameter MMPI_READ_NOTE value for today's date e.g. 20070215

4) Run MMPI and enter the company, period and year that you want to revert back to e.g. 10/2006

5) system will reset to the 10th period.

Hi Mark ,

Yes u r right u have to use MMPI ....

I will suggest you one trick in the period closing .... Don't use the period tabs when closing the period in MMPV . Always use date tab like 0102007 or 01032007 which will ensure that u are closing the correct period, Since the period is coming from the FI setting depends on your financial year April to March or Jan to Dec or Oct to sep .

Transfer a request from a Development client to Production client of changing the period in tcode OMSY, to the period you want to, then post the necessary document & again the repeat the above procedure of transferring the request with current period.

This will help you to your save time & things will move fast.We had face the same problem in one of our customer, & was successful in doing the above procedure & solving the error.

go thro the note 487381 .

The steps are

1) Go to user id of you in su01

2) go to the parameter tab

3) Maintain the paramenter MMPI_READ_NOTE value as 20061001 for the month october if it is 10th period. or value as 20070101 for the month january'2007 as 10th period.

4) Run MMPV and give the date as u maintained in the parameter.

5) system will reset to the 10th period.
