inspection result to multiple batches

Hello,

For my client, I need to figure out a way to get the inspection results from QM into multiple batches. Is there a simple (standard) way to do this?

The situation is that my client produces 3 batches at once. Samples for analysis are only taken from 1 of those 3 batches. After the analyses, at the usage decision, the values need to be copied into the characteristics of all 3 batches.

Anyone can help me out with this one?

If all the characterisitics of the 3 batches are same, Can you please explain in detail the use of having multiple batches for one time production.

I am not clear, if the 3 batches produced are from same production order or from different orders.

Can you please explain in detail so that we can search for a best fit solution.

as a matter of fact, PP is not used at my client (they refused). The inspection lot is created manually.

To answer your question, the 3 batches would be for the same production order (if PP was used). My client is a precious metal company. They cast large bars of metal. In one casting, they cast 3 bars which are 3 batches.

Hi,

That means you have only one inspection lot(manually created) for the production of 3 batches. But you can link only one material/one batch to an inspection lot in SAP. In your case, you can record the results for 1 batch and maintain the other batches in text field(that Inspection not required for other 2 batches).

By the way which inspectin type are you using?

I'm using a customized inspection type.

Isn't there a way to copy the characteristics from batch to batch? If that was possible, I could add a castnumber to the batch characteristics so that all batches with the same castnumber have the same analyses results.

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately there is no direct solution, it should be developed through coding. Pls check the exit EXIT_SAPLQMSP_003 of enhancement QMSP0003. This might be useful.

Pls check meanwhile I will try to find If anyother option is available for you.
