installing SAP NetWeaver 2004 & 2004s Trials and Previews on Windows

Has anybody installed "SAP NetWeaver 2004 & 2004s Trials and Previews on Windows Platform" which is in the downloads section.

It says it supports Windows2000, & Windows XP also, but when I tried to install it says "prerequisite conditions not met. you need windows 2003Server or worktation etc" message. Even then I tried continuing installtion but it failed.

Also, did anyone try installing it on Windows Vista? Any luck?

Hi Deepika,

I do not mean to say that it does not works on XP Professional. If SAP has said that it means it works because they post any message after checking its complete functionality many times and when they find it complete proof then only they publish it.

At our end sometimes we faced problem in SAP logon at XP that may be occured due to other reasons as well, not due to that it does not support XP. I was mean to say that if you install it on 2003 exterprise edition that is the best suitable for it as it works perfectly at our end.

Hi Deepika,

You can install it on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition that is the best suitable for installing it. Sometimes it gives error on XP due to its features. On 2003 server it works but so0metimes it gives error there as well. On Vista sometimes SAP logon works and sometimes not. So its better to avoid Vista till it work fine.

The best things is that you install it on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition and it will work fine.

How can SAP claim that it works on XP profesional if sometimes it fails? So, its like, "OK we are giving you for free, if it works or not we dont worry about it". Doesnt it sounds stupid. Anyone successfully installed on Windows XP professional without any issues/problems?
